Hong Kong has 20 higher education institutions that are degree awarding bodies, in which 9 are publicly funded and 11 are privately funded. Secondary schools graduates have the option to take an associate degree course upon completion of their secondary school diploma. After graduated from associate degree courses, students can choose to progress to a degree program (2+2 mode) to obtain a Bachelor degree.
With a Bachelor degree, students can choose from a wide range of postgraduate courses for further studies, including research courses.
