Studying in Australia

Australia is located in the southern hemisphere
whereas Hong Kong is in the northern
hemisphere. Thus it is warmer in the north
with an annual average temperature of 27℃
and cooler in the south with 14℃. English is
the common language in use.

According to the Economist, four of the world's
top ten ideal cities to live in 2013 lie in Australia:
Melbourne, followed by Adelaide, Sydney and
Perth. Although Australia is the most economically
developed country in the southern hemisphere,
it is also one of the happiest countries to live in
the world. The cost of living is relatively cheap,
which is one of the many reasons why students
from Hong Kong choose to study in Australia.

University

There are 39 universities in Australia, providing
bachelor or postgraduate studies on campus
(including certificate, postgraduate diploma,
master's and doctoral programs).

Universities also offer basic courses, preparatory
courses for bachelor's degrees. These foundation
courses generally take one year, and with up to
80% to 95% completion of the program.
Undergraduate basic courses do not require
public examination, thus overseas students have
to focus on assignment, quizzes and in-school
exams to meet the first year of university entry
requirement.
