the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula with

Singapore is well-known for high quality 
education to increase the competitiveness
of students and also to nurture them,
unleashing their potential and talent.  
Singapore follows the tradition of elite

education; the Ministry of Education has
the second largest financial expense
following the Ministry of Defense. English
is the first language.  

Singapore has five polytechnics and three
tertiary institutions. Among them, the
National University of Singapore (NUS)
and Nanyang Technological University are
prestigious universities in Asia. NUS is
ranked first in Asia Pacific University by
"Times Higher Education" in 2017.

Primary and Secondary Schools 
 
Singapore has a unified curriculum of the 
first four years of primary school. Thereafter,
students are categorized into three different
levels based on their language proficiency.  

On average, 33% of the time in four years
is spent on English learning, 27% for learning
math, and the rest is art, crafts, music and
sports and other subjects. Middle schools
courses are categorized into four spectrum:
special courses, short courses, ordinary
academic courses and general technical
courses. Singapore adopts a half-day system
for primary and secondary schools in general.

University 

Singapore has four universities, five polytechnics
and other private universities. These institutions
offer competitive and popular courses, such as
language, business administration, marketing,
public relations, hotel & tourism, beauty and
computer science. Many of these courses are
jointly run prominent universities in the UK and
the USA offering a recognized univeristy degree.
